That feminine urge to be ATTICO

A creature of Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini, The Attico has been founded in 2016, and its strength lies in the complementarity of its creative directors’ personalities. From the outset, Attico has boldly showcased women’s sensuality, femininity, and passion.

Ambrosio and Tordini have disrupted traditional fashion mechanisms, crafting their innovative vision of luxury and quickly entering right into the leading personalities of the world of fashion: in fact, they are in the list of personalities under 30 most influential of the planet, according to Forbes.

The two designers have always had a very definite idea about their brand identity: they are, in fact, addressing a strong, sexy and independent woman, just like them. In an interview for Vogue Italia the two talked about wanting to stay close to their idea of beauty, because in fashion you either tell the truth or do not move forward. However, despite being often criticized for the patterns of their dresses, too short, too tight or too bold, the creative minds of The Attico want to make clear that their brand is open to anyone who wants to express their personality fully: “Fashion is a very demanding creature, always hungry: you have to learn to nourish it and to indulge its tastes, but without becoming unnatural. So, it’s important to know where you’re going and where you want to be” - they said during an interview for GQ.

The Attico is a name that already smells of upscale neighborhoods, but Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini have never made it a mystery, they always aimed high: Attico is a status where luxury is a fundamental but very relative element, because even a low-budget garment can be luxurious in the right hands.

Enchanted by its opulent aesthetic, everyone from the mesmerizing and iconic Cher to the rocking Måneskin, not to mention Dua Lipa, Rihanna and Zendaya, has embraced The Attico.

For the first time since it was founded, The Attico was showcased at MFW in 2023, for the SS24 collection with a catwalk, titled The Morning After, in the city center. The duo’s fashion show saw the models walking between the sights of guests seated on colored sofas and armchairs. Influential figures of the fashion world, including designers Sabato De Sarno, Andrea Adamo and Nicola Brognano, but also the Vogue Italia’s editor-in-chief Francesca Ragazzi and the entrepreneur Kylie Jenner, along with all the closest friends of Ambrosio and Tordini, such as Chiara Biasi, Chiara Ferragni and Bianca Balti, attended.

During the fashion show, alongside sexy cocktail dresses and nude looks, maxi cardigans, trench coats with strong shoulders and sweaters with high necks were also on the catwalk.

Before this, Ambrosio and Tordini never considered a runway show, as it would have meant expanding their usual audience and reaching people unfamiliar with The Attico. They waited until the right moment, incorporating significant technological elements to provide a high level digital experience for remote followers.

Recently, for the launch of its new beachwear collection, Napoli vista mare, the brand of Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini conquered the streets of Naples: from the historic center to Mergellina’s seafront.

The marinière elegance, cooler and more contemporary, is presented through luxurious textures and bandana-patterned prints. The collection includes bikinis, full suits, dresses, shirts, t-shirts, baseball hats, mesh bags, and beach towels, in military green, brown and beige.

Naples, with its rich history and  incomparable charm, served as the perfect stage for the new collection. The pictures, taken by the talented photographer Ciro Pipoli, convey the inspiration behind this special collection, where contemporary style and elegance blend seamlessly.

For the launch, The Attico took control of the whole city, transforming the most iconic places and local activities into unique experiences.

From the historical bakery F.lli Attanasio with their magical sfogliatelle, to Mennella’s tasty icecream and Chalet Ciro’s delicious pastries, offering a perfect mix of fashion, gastronomy and art. To complete the celebration, The Attico hosted an exclusive launch party in the heart of the city, in a beautiful villa that stands directly on the sea.

Later this year, the two of them announced a second runway show for The Attico during the September Milan Fashion Week, and we cannot wait to see what Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini have in store for us.

UPDATE: The Attico returned to Milan Fashion Week in September 2025 with the collection “Lei è così.”
